Home Jinni was founded in 2009 by an interdisciplinary team of communications technologies, consumer electronics and product design experts and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

With an initial mission of addressing the complexities of the connected home and enabling consumers to maximize the use and enjoyment of their digital lives, Home Jinni developed a series of white label products for end user programming and control of the digital home, including the ConnecTV platform, which was the first Android based Smart TV platform on the market. ConnecTV was licensed to the leading microchip design vendor MIPS technologies as part of their SmartCE reference design for connected TVs.

Home Jinni has since evolved into one of the premier software engineering consulting firms for development of embedded systems, mobile systems, consumer electronics and digital signal processing.
